Bernie Ecclestone could be sent to prison due to bribe trial which begins this Thursday. It is getting more and more serious while two first courts found Bernie guilty of bribing already jailed banker Gerhard Gribkowsky.

The criminal trial is being held in Germany and Bernie is accused of paying $44 million to Gribkowsky who has been convicted receiving the money.

Sylvia Schenk, a senior sports lawyer for the anti-corruption agency Transparency International said: „It doesn’t look terribly good for him. Under a compliance point of view you have to remember that Ecclestone has already admitted paying the $44 million to Gribkowsky, and for reasons which don’t seem to be really kosher. It’s not exactly an exhibit of integrity. But the justice system still needs to prove his individual responsibility”
