Land Rover plans to broaden its portfolio by next five years and is in phase of launching one of new models – Discovery Sport. The car with basic price of 32,395 pounds will be the cheapest one after Defender and Evoque and will follow end of Freelander’s production. As Phil Popham, marketing director Tata Motors says the model will be an important contributor to business taking into consideration that company invests a lot of money to expand Land Rovers and Jaguars product range.
The new model will have design familiar to Range Rover Evoque with sporty bumper with slender grill in front, distinctive C-pillar and slooping roofline in back. The photos of interior and specifications were not released so far however we can assume it should be fitted with turbocharged 2.0-liter diesel. The engine is expected to be one of the most efficient and responsive in the segment.
