McLaren F1 previously owned by Mario Andretti’s son Michael given by company to driver as an incentive to end the contract with serial number #28 was lately bought at record price. It is said that British petrolhead paid more than £6 million for the car which is more than price for McLaren F1 with number #66 sold at Pebble Beach. The previous record was $8.47 million – £6.2 million and now it equivalent of $10 million.
It is one of only two examples painted in red and going back to its history Mario Andretti sold the car quickly to Japanese collector. It was due to fact that McLaren F1 was not road-legal in US. Now its back in UK visiting first two other continents.
McLaren F1 is one of most desirable cars in history while only 64 were built and for a long time (before Veyron appeared) F1 was the fastest street car able to be driven with 240mph speed.
