Yesterday I was at driving school in Poznan which was held by Skoda. To be honest we all believe we are great drivers and indeed it is good to be self-confident however sometimes reality might overwhelm our capabilities. I was with a group of people who use cars each to for work and make around 60-70k kilometer per year. It is a lot and probably due to that fact most of them feel like Schumachers. On the other side what they said is that they have never had accidents or unexpected and dangerous situations on road.
So in that manner only the millage they do shouldn’t give them the feel they are good. It was shown that slalom or emergency breaking have never been practiced for some. Its great all the group was keen on learning and getting experience however what makes me a bit afraid is that all of them drive their cars very, very fast each day.
So what would be if any of emergency appeared on road? Well before we go fast with a car let’s train first how we handle the machine and if we feel it. Its more than a must to know how the car behaves before we put the pedal to the metal cuz its not fun. Its not a playstation game but life.
My reflection after the training is that during next year I will open autoniusy school of driving. Of course I will not focus only on save driving to give it more fun and get more people.
